Crown Conference Centre Melbourne opens
Crown’s latest development, the Crown Conference Centre, located adjacent to Crown Promenade Hotel and Crown Entertainment Complex in Southbank’s Whiteman Street, Melbourne, has been opened by Tim Holding, Victoria's minister for Tourism and Major Events.
The purpose-built Centre caters for conferences of up to 840 delegates and has 20 rooms.
Speaking at the opening, Crown chief executive David Courtney said: “To date, more than 30 conferences and over 100 meetings have been booked for the first six months of operation, which has exceeded our expectations. By the end of 2010, we expect that over 50,000 delegates will have been guests of this impressive new centre.”
The centre claims a clean, modern design boasting an abundance of natural light in all breakout rooms and with the latest in audio-visual technology including wireless Internet connections, data technology, web-casting and video conferencing facilities.
The main pillar-less conference hall enables conference organisers to host up to 840 delegates seated theatre-style and provides the option of using up to 19 other rooms all located on a single floor. The centre’s other large space, the Promenade Room, can accommodate up to 600 people when configured theatre-style.
