GCAC choses a Studer console

The Gold Coast Arts Centre, one of Queensland’s premium arts venues, has chosen a Studer console.

This is the second Queensland premium concert and performance venue to choose a Studer audio console during 2009, the first with the Ovation Media Server however, an exciting combination assured to deliver maximum performance for all the Gold Coast Arts Centre’s productions.

After the successful installation of a Studer Vista5 SR at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in February 2009, the Arts Centre, Gold Coast has taken delivery of a 32 fader Vista5 for their concert centre. This unit will be installed by mid February 2010 and features the Studer VST Effects engine and a fully integrated Merging Technologies Ovation Media Server.

ATT’s business development manager Travers Falkiner has expressed delight with the Gold Coast Arts Centre’s decision and while he states 2 units at such premium sites don’t make a trend, he is confident that there will be more to come from similar venues around the country.

The GCAC’s console will feature 56 mic, 16 line and 11 stereo AES ins with further expandability to a maximum of 240 total inputs. The unit will be delivered with 32 line outs and 9 stereo & 6 AES mono outs located in the D21m I/O interfaces racks which are connected to the console via 100m of MADI optical cable. Also connected via MADI will be the Ovation Media Server which incorporates a Pyramix MassCore DAW.

The Ovation offers many different kinds of Cue List to organize shows and setups. There are no limitations in terms of the number of Cues and Cue Lists which can be freely organised, resized, tabbed, stacked and spread over the main application window. The user interface is fully customisable, but can be frozen with all menus & editing buttons hidden during show time.
