Egg Chair provides a private hub

Innovative student of Plus Architecture, Emma Selzer, has designed the ‘egg chair’, an intimate space to access and utilize computers for new Prahran residential development, Society.

Situated in the business centre of the apartment building the egg chair offers residents an inbuilt desk and chair that maximizes privacy protecting the inhabitant from the bustle of their surrounds.

Encircled with painted branches the pods, suspended from the ceiling, deliver an element of seeds dropping from trees, helping to create a soothing working environment for the studious inhabitants of Society.

Student of Plus Architecture, Emma Selzer, says she is delighted her design was selected to be included within Society.

“ This was a fantastic project to be working on, Society is a great concept and I am thrilled to have had a role in its design,” Ms Selzer said.

Fabricated from approximately 110 pieces of plywood, each laser cut with precision then glued, the egg chair features a bolt and swivel on the underneath of the pod to secure its position while allowing a 360 degree pivot.
