Introducing Mr. Mitchell
Andrew Mitchell, Melbourne-based Interior Designer and Director of Urban Pad, announces the re-brand and expansion of his business. On the 27th of June 2012, the business re-launched as MR. MITCHELL and introduced new business partner, James Lambrou.
The decision to re-brand was a considered and timely move. Urban Pad began with a city-based residential clientele that resonated with the business name and identity. Over the past 12 years the business has grown to include a portfolio of highly successful commercial projects and a number of coastal and rural residences of particular quality. In a way, the business has now come of age with the introduction of a new name and identity.
For over 12 years Andrew Mitchell has contributed to the Australian interior design industry. Urban Pad started in 2000 as an interiors store on Chapel Street. The demand for Andrew's design eye led to the introduction of an interior design service for both residential and commercial clients. A strong portfolio of landmark projects soon followed with hotels, restaurants, bars and high-end homes designed throughout Victoria.
The connection between the re-brand and Andrew's surname may seem obvious, but the true intent is to represent the essence of the business: a personal service style and strong relationships built with clients and suppliers.
"It was clear from the start that the business was always about the personal service style, and the strong relationships built around that service. We decided that the business name and the entire branding needed to reflect these core values, hence the creation of MR. MITCHELL."
With an extensive list of clients and a respected reputation within the industry, business growth was a natural progression. Joining MR. MITCHELL is UK based interior designer, James Lambrou. James spent 11 years living in London managing two boutique interior design companies. His decision to return to Australia was due to his desire to be closer to his family. He brings not only international design flair, but vast experience in business development and management.
"I am excited to be back in Australia after eleven inspiring, exciting and unforgettable years living in London. To meet a fellow designer who shared the same passion and goals was something of chance, so it just made sense to put our heads together and work as a team. I am absolutely excited about the future."
Together the duo plan to make sure that everyone has soon heard of MR. MITCHELL. They are currently working on some major residential and commercial projects, with exciting new projects in the pipeline. You can expect to see MR. MITCHELL heading up designs for some new pub renovations in 2012-2013 while continuing to support their loyal client base.
