That Metal Company at Hamptons Bakery

The Hamptons Bakery in bayside Melbourne is part of a vast new retail space in a family orientated community. So local appeal and a destination for diners was required for light and bright décor that enhanced the appetite for great food.

Ewart Leaf was the design company chosen to create a spacious 100-seat eatery with banquettes and counter dining. An abundance of natural light, and a palette of natural timbers, cast concrete, and black detailing led the design aesthetic. The spaciousness was further emphasised with continuous mirror tiles above the timber banquette seating.

For a food outlet installation, surfaces needed to be easy to clean and maintain as well as provide a WOW factor for patrons.

That Metal Company was invited to put forward metal sheet options to integrate into the overall design. Our #904 Brushed Light Brass provided the perfect solution for WOW and usability. The #904 metal sheets were fabricated onto the curved servery counter bouncing light around the room. The beautiful reflective surface added warmth and curvature working in harmony with the white subway tiles.

The simplicity of form inherent with the #904 Brushed Light Brass allows each of the materials used in the design to mix harmoniously together. Even Ewart Leaf admit that “the curved brass servery counter is the hero of the venue”

We understand our metals so well, working with designers and joiners on preparation, cutting, and installation is all part of the job. And we love it.

The Hamptons Bakery was designed by Ewart Leaf with Joinery by Bee Interiors. Metals by That Metal Company.
