Tait at Brae

One of the finest additions to Victoria, Dan Hunter’s Brae restaurant and guesthouses are located on 30 acres of lush olive groves, orchards and vegetable plots in Birregurra region. If you’ve not yet been, it’s well worth ensuring the time and making it the centrepiece of your Great Ocean Road getaway. Working with Studio Round, Tait was specified for the project, completing each guesthouse with a number of chairs and loungers from the Tidal collection; a collaborative series with Trent Jansen.

Six Degrees Architects were responsible for the sensational design, crafting the quarters with recycled bricks, Australian Blackbutt timber paneling, slate floors, marble bench tops and brass fittings. Sustainable features include solar energy, harvested rainwater and more. Interiors were styled by Studio Round to include handcrafted ceramics sourced from Cone 11, bespoke textiles by New Zealand’s Emma Hayes and fittings by industrial designer Dave Murray.
