
Saltec was started in 1989 by Greg de Vries. Greg had been sub-contracting in the Electrical, Audiovisual & Lighting Industry for seven years prior to that and realized that there was definitely room in the market for a new Company that would provide a “one stop shop” to the Hospitality Industry and Corporate Markets.
Providing the best possible service
Greg's philosophy for Saltec was simple “Provide the best possible service”. He shared the music Industry’s motto -“The show must go on” - and believed that clients had enough to concern themselves with, without the additional burden of Electrical, Audio Visual and Lighting issues. This philosophy was something that Greg took very serious over the years And as you can see above, now forms our “Mission Statement”.
From Saltec’s humble beginnings in 1989 where the business was run from Greg’s home and garage and consisted of a handful of staff, the business has grown considerably. Due to the rapid growth of the business, Saltec moved its operations to a factory located at Bankstown in Sydney's south west. At this stage, Saltec had been slowly gaining new clients, virtually all by word of mouth. Since then, Saltec has steadily grown and now has a highly skilled staff of 30. They still operate out of the same premises at Bankstown, but this has been extensively renovated over the years with additional offices, boardroom, fully equipped Service Department and storage facilities. Saltec has come a long way from its humble beginnings but they have never changed their commitment to provide the best possible service that is second to none.
