The design brief was to create an exciting, unique casual destination serving fresh, quality, authentic Chinese food.

The BamBamBoo concept centres on fresh and contemporary Asian cuisine, focusing on three core elements of Chinese cooking - dumplings, noodles and BBQ duck.

The coming together of tradition and new, quickly became a theme and focal point for the project. BamBamBoo were about taking on a modern version of traditional tastes with state-of-the-art machinery imported specifically to ensure freshest produce, with short wait times. A further example being an old school canteen style eatery format with fully automated iPad ordering.

It features an open kitchen concept – unique for a Chinese restaurant – to enhance the dining experience and bring the busy atmosphere of the kitchen to the dining tables. Authentic, modern Chinese - from the food theatre and preparation to the décor and service.

Natural materials including rough sawn timber, terracotta tiles, exfoliated granite and an abundance of greenery in the new restaurant, which includes a 100sqm alfresco space.

Along with the sensory experience of the open kitchen and décor, BamBamBoo aspires to create a space that will lift people’s emotions on entry and become a much-loved destination.

Client Quote:

The design theme is fresh and trendy with artistic twist that meets the taste of the restaurant’s target market of diners who go for casual yet smart dining experience.

We are pleased that the designers were able to seamlessly include cultural elements in the design to reflect the origin of the cuisine.
