From humble beginnings, the Boat Shed Bar + Galley has a unique story to tell. Originally built in 1975, along with major renovations to the iconic Belmont 16s club on the lake, the Boat Shed Bar + Galley (as the name suggests) housed a number of boats for over 35 years. Inside it you will find original structures and sailing memorabilia paying tribute to its rich history.

Transformed in 2015, the Boat Shed Bar + Galley is now home to a vibrant and distinguished evening crowd of Lake Macquarie locals.

Adjustable Brass Wall Lamp And Shade

The antiqued brass is a lovely “old brass” look with a patina and antiqued surface. This has a new fitting as E27 brass and include one standard Edison Vintage bulb. This lamp can be wall or table mounted. There are two elbows and the shade also rotates. Earthed system that requires 3 core flex and needs to be wired to earth.

The existing club wanted a different offering to the typical club family bistro or sports lounge. They wanted to create an area that will attract the younger patron and to break away from the typical club image, creating a boutique pub within a club.

The Boat Shed Bar is a standalone offering within the larger club. It has its own food, small gaming areas, TAB as well as serving as the sailing club’s clubhouse. The area that this new Boat Shed Bar is located in was in fact the old sailing boat shed. The “boat shed” was the insperation for the design and the sailing club was a great source of design features. An old boat table owned by the club became the central furniture feature.

Old club photos where reproduced on plywood to create a decorative banquette seating backing. Fun was had with ropes to create decorative wall features.

The original room was a industrial shed with concrete floor and ceiling. The designers wanted the final product to have some of that industrial unfinished feel. Thus the ceilings are painted out with exposed services. The wall finishes are a combination of recycled brickwork and recycled timber paneling .

A central horseshoe bar has feature aged brass beer taps showcasing the craft beers on offer.

There is a strong audio visual focus in this venue with TV walls featured in all the main seating areas.
