The word council house makes one think of bleak, run down housing estates such as in Shameless but Melbourne’s latest bar and restaurant is anything but. Council House 2 is smart, sleek and funky and carries the kudos of being on the ground floor of one of the world’s most sustainable office buildings.

With its’ emphasis on sustainable, locally produced fare Council House 2 give a whole new meaning to eating all your greens.

The venue was designed by one of the two owners, Francisco Valles - the other being Kristine Becke

The sound system was installed by Richard Hallam from ‘Your Sound Investment’.  The audio soundtrack was designed by Peter Attard from ‘Sound For Your Space’.

Council House 2 features solid timber panels, a twig chandelier, booths, Eames replica moulded chairs, and shades of, naturally, green. It’s industrial in feel yet is softened by the Sean Diamond designed wallpaper.
