One of 13 events spaces at the hotel, Lord Ashley is available for casual meetings and dining experiences and is also perfect for informal celebrations and intimate weddings.

Lord Ashley comprises of two décor-rich meeting rooms named “The Fireplace” and “The Lounge” and a bar which can be utilised as a pre-function area.

The modern venue has also been enhanced by new furnishings and upholstery to add to the lounge-bar feel including plush wool carpet, custom armchairs, marble fireplace, double height doors, hanging lights, controlled roller blinds and a large feature mirror.

“The Fireplace” is fully serviced with advanced audio visual (AV) technology and in-house support by Avestar AV Services. New AV additions to this space include a new projector, screen and surround sound, and an energy-controlled air conditioning system.

The new-look venue was created by Melbourne-based interior designer Andrew Wales, Associate Principal Designer, RotheLowman, who worked to the concept of a character-filled venue offering both space and intimacy, while making use of the abundance of natural light.Rothelowman were approached by Crowne Plaza Terrigal to produce a design for Lord Ashley that would truly enhance the guest experience. The hotel wanted a multi-purpose space – flexible enough to be used for a small wedding, corporate meeting, or cocktail party. In addition, the space needed to be easily able to convert back into an operating lounge bar serving beverages and light meals.

The design produced by Rothelowman brings a contemporary edge to the lounge while retaining some of the extensive mouldings and styling which are prevalent throughout the property. By simplifying the internal colour palette, attention is drawn through the expansive windows to the captivating ocean views outside. Through the use of sliding and operable acoustic walls, Lord Ashley is now able to be divided into three individual spaces, each retaining beach views and each able to be serviced from the existing bar without compromising the experience of other hotel guests.

Rothe Loweman engaged Brintons to design a carpet which would achieve the design statement they were looking for – refined intimacy. The final concept for the carpet was inspired by one of Brintons most successful design galleries, Timorous Beasties First Weave by Brintons. The scale and intricacy of the patterning gave the area a touch of sophistication and elegance whilst providing a practical, high performance base for the lounge area.

The new multipurpose rooms are now regularly sold for functions and events, providing Crowne Plaza Terrigal with an additional revenue stream, and providing all hotel guests with an improved experience.

The re-opening of Lord Ashley follows Crowne Plaza Terrigal’s recent $2.9 million upgrade to Florida Beach Bar.
