Hoyts Broadway Lux has an edgy, fun and yet timeless style offering a premium concierge style box office. This is also coupled with in cinema dining and a hospitality venue with service and attention to detail of an up market bar or restaurant.
Rich textures with dramatic furniture and lighting drawing from the golden age of cinema and layered over by a more serious glamorous backdrop of contemporary film.
The main challenge was maintaining operation of the cinema complex during construction. Noise control formed a major programming consideration to ensure a positive customer experience being maintained.
Careful zoning of spaces creating different areas within the bar. Flexibility of larger areas for groups, intimate spaces for couples to retreat into and a highly visible and inviting bar .
The careful selection of finishes, lighting and furniture pieces. Rich colours and various luscious and textural materials helps to reinforce the design concept. A mix of classic materials and furniture pieces juxtapose with material which are crisp and with clean straight lines.
Lighting selection was crucial to reinforce the design concept. Dimming lights allow to find the right lighting levels to suit each event held in the different spaces.
A special feature is the movie star entry incorporating a red carpet, ‘Hollywood lights’ over entry ceiling, one way mirror with a hidden digital display wall behind. Digital wall is used to promote current movies.
