Hurricane’s Grill is located in the new outdoor dining precinct as part of the new development of  Narellan Town Centre. The design explores a fresh and sophisticated approach adopting white
painted concrete, arches and terracotta tiles that are true colours of Portugal and reflect the owner’s traditional Portuguese and South African inspired menu.

The exposed black elevated ceiling allows for the majestic and theatrical elements below to be emphasised and highlighted on the expansive polished concrete flooring. The characteristic arch
trellis dividers have drawn inspiration from the famous Gare de Oriente and Sao Bento Railway Stations of Portugal. Connecting us back to the memories and imaginations of travelling through
Portugal and the historical grandeur.

The bar of the restaurant is a direct reference to the concrete arches seen in Portuguese architecture. It holds the strong foundations as a main element of the space and is complimented with a vast display of wine and spirits that are haloed with LED strip lighting.

The fully operable bi‐fold doors extend the restaurant shop front and open the restaurant and bar area to the courtyard. The successful integration between the Australian Tasmanian Oak along with the green Zanzibar plants that are native to South Africa and the indoor / outdoor dining feel of Portugal harmonises this conceptual combination and allows a relaxed casual experience that is reminiscent of being in a town square in Lisbon.

The private dining room is a more formal area with the touch of elegance and luxury that separates it from the restaurant. The large room seats 24 patrons and features a central bi‐fold door that gives the room the flexibility to divide in two. The surrounding bronze mirror and the crisp white panel work gives the room an intimate dining experience while the mesh bi‐fold doors to the restaurant provide the essence of still being a part of the restaurant buzz but with a high level of comfort enhancing the drinking and dining experience. The private dining room wine fridge and the wine display cabinet exhibit the restaurants most exclusive range of wines that harmonise the lavish yet casual atmosphere.

Known for their traditional Portuguese inspired menu, the theatre is an important part of the brand. Treating the kitchen as the hub of the restaurant, it was important for the space to be a long
rectangle section that felt visually open to dinners and a part of the dining experience. Most of the kitchen action and theatre happens around the open flame grill which is why the famous 5 metre
grill sits proud on the front kitchen counter. The combination of the unique grilling style and fresh produce compose alluring aromas that swirl through the restaurant and out the door.
