roofPOP is a temporary bar now open on level six of Curtin House that’s serving chilled Veuve Clicquot and boutique beers.

Conceived as a pop-up bar that will run through summer, Architects Fitt De Felice have designed roofPOP! to be temporary, sustainable and fun. They wanted the space to feel immersive and slightly fantastical, as though you’ve just been shrunk down inside an Alice in Wonderland-esque champagne bottle.

Super tight time and budget constraints prompted some quirky inventiveness. Champagne bubbles fill the space in a soft frenzy of effervescence. Vibrant green walls and SmartGrass flooring create this

’bottle’ fantasy, and the gold lined entry references the cork’s foil wrapping. The curvilinear interiors are a nod to Veuve Cliquot’s single serpentine sash of orange and are wallpapered with the watery red lines and washed tangerines of their signature Florence Deygas prints.

Away from the bar, the fairytale themes continue with a Hansel and Gretel trail of ‘gentleman bottles’ guiding patrons through an art installation area towards the bathrooms.

The bar itself is run by the crew from Rooftop Bar and Cinema.
