Oozing old-world charm and a rich history, new whisky haunt The Gresham Bar is the latest creation for Inaspace Architecture + Design. Located within the former Queensland National Bank – an iconic Brisbane Heritage listed building - The Gresham Bar is a moody gem of a venue filled with one-off vintage pieces and is truly an ode to Brisbane times past. With a brand new “Heritage Bar License” being created in order for The Gresham to open, it really is a one-of-a-kind.
Tucked away into a tiny almost criminally under-utilised area (until now) corner of the building where floor space is minimal but style is not. It’s not the floor space that matters here, Gresham is all about height, its 6m high press metal adorned ceilings are a design element that really impress. To take advantage and show off the historic detail and amazing craftsmanship of the original plaster cast cornices and ceiling roses Inaspace highlighted these with rich hues chosen from Porters Paints extensive range. Vintage inspired fabrics adorn the original cedar framed windows and further draw attention the immense scale of the rooms.
As Esmerelda (the transgender peacock, star of Bernard Fanning’s newest film clip) can attest, The Gresham Bar is the place to be. Offering not only the finest and largest array of liquors, but the most unique, historical interior bar fitout in Brisbane.
