"Sassellas can be described as refined contemporary, mature, masculine - an escape," says Simone Pirovich, managing director of work.shop.dine. "The brief from the client was to refurbish the entire public area and bars however it was important to ensure that the existing mature clientel felt confortable in the new space."
Lunchtime Fridays are extremely popular and Simone had to allow for large numbers as a restaurant setup and then be able to convert the space into a bar for evenings in her design.
The large tables at the booth seating can be removed and low bar tables installed in their place for an intimate evening for couples or groups of friends having a few glasses wine together.
The booths are upholstered in leather for comfort and bring a Melbourne bar feel into the venue. They are easy to clean and have a plush feel to them.
The carpet was chosen after much deliberation with the client to add femininity to the space without being too overpowering. Function was also a factor as the Feltex carpet is suitable for areas such as bar interiors.
