Sake Restaurant & Bar

Set in a heritage building of the highest significance, Sake Restaurant & Bar celebrates the contrast between refined, Japanese inspired design and rustic, early industrial aesthetics. Atmosphere, accessibility and functionality were key objectives in the design and the result is an enchanting space that invites and operates like a well oiled machine.

Designers Luchetti Krelle used Flowering Quince by Clarence House (available from South Pacific Fabrics) on one feature wall.

"Walls which incorporate integrated lighting components are of great interest to us at the moment," commented Rachel Luchetti. "We like to play with degrees of diffusion, reflection, shadow and colour."

Another feature wall at Sake Restaurant demonstrates these principles with a bespoke cherry blossom motif cut out from magenta and blue coloured mirror finish stainless steel and set out from a gold wall with diffused side lit LED. Some of the cut-outs have been removed entirely, whilst others are bent out from the wall to create shadows.
