Hotel Operations Technology Conference (HOT) 2011
Each year the Hotel Operations Technology Conference (HOT), created by world- renowned
hospitality technology expert, Ted Horner, is a highly anticipated event. HOT11 will take place at the
Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 15 – Wednesday 16 March 2021 as conference
partner of the second annual Hotel Hospitality + Design 2011 expo.
In its 15th year, HOT11 is focused on educating hotel executives on technology issues that are critical
to the future success of their businesses. As the hospitality industry rebounds and responds to current
social, economic and technological trends, HOT11 is a not to be missed opportunity for industry
executives to stay ahead and remain competitive in a fast moving and evolving market.
This year the topic spearheading the conference is industry adaptation to a changing environment
through changing technologies. HOT11 will demonstrate that as the social media revolution
continues, organisations are finding new and innovative ways of connecting with their customers and
reducing operational costs.
HOT11 conference addresses:
• social web and 'cloud' computing opportunities
• hospitality technology professionals demonstrating value and impact
• sustainable technologies and applications
HOT's keynote speaker is Richard Barnes, Editor-in-Chief of Cleverdis, who will give HOT's keynote
address – 'Planning for the Future TV Experience.' Barnes will focus on how new in-room technologies
are remaking the hospitality business and what the implications are of these generational changes in
technology.
Other high profile international speakers include Paul Peddrick, Senior Vice President Digital Strategy
TIG Global who will present the topic, 'Making online bookings personal again' and Charles Reed, CEO
Docomo Intertouch who will present the topic 'Managed Services: Moving Network Management
above Property.' Other session topics include 'Is wireless Internet the answer to all guests needs?'
and 'Exploring Cloud Computing – what is all the fuss and does it deliver over traditional premisebased
computing?'
The second day of the conference will present the HOT11 Environmental Masterclasses addressing
energy, waste and water management in the hospitality industry and the impact of evolving
technology in assisting sustainable environmental practices. This is a timely issue and one not to be
missed by representatives of the hospitality industry concerned about the industry's environmental
impact.
"Change and innovation is accelerating and for those of us in the hospitality industry it is a
challenging, bewildering and exciting time. New leaders are emerging with the vision to adapt or
change their business models to embrace the opportunities created by the social web and 'the cloud'.
Overall we can promise two days of thought provoking sessions that will signpost emerging trends
and prepare you and your organisation for the knowledge and information challenges of 2011," says
Ted Horner, HOT founder and organiser.
The conference will follow with ancillary events – HOT Cocktails and the HOT Networking Dinner. For
