Designer Rugs Seminars at State of Design Festival 2011

As part of State of Design Festival 2011, Designer Rugs is proud to present two seminars.

Creative Pulse - exploring how design can transform our environment and move us physically and emotionally.

The State of Design Festival is a key element of the Design Victoria Strategy developed to increase the awareness of the value of design and showcase how design generates innovation, promotes sustainability and adds value to business and society.

As Australia's leading custom made rug company, Designer Rugs continues to be committed to supporting and celebrating Australian design. The Designer Rugs seminars will explore what moves us physically and emotionally; our experience of objects and environments, how colour resonates, and how we are moved when we look at something beautiful, such as when we design a custom rug an emotional connection is made when you make it your own.

Exploring the theme of Design that Moves, award winning artist- designer Simone LeAmon will MC the event and will start our journey through emotive design, how design can ignite and inspire, and how emotions perform a crucial role in our ability to understand the world.
Joining Simone will be senior designer Lia Pielli from Designer Rugs, Julie Paterson from Cloth and Stephen Ormandy from Dinosaur Designs. Together they will all share their vast experience, knowledge and what has moved them physically and emotionally in their design process.

The seminars will be held on Thursday 28th July 2011 in the Designer Rugs Melbourne showroom with two allocated time slots:

10am – 12pm for General Public and Students
6pm – 8pm exclusive to trade clients
