Aldinga's new 100-seat restaurant

The new venture, to be named The Boat Ramp, will be run by Doug Govan and his team from the Victory Hotel. With the Star of Greece a short stroll along the sand at Port Willunga and also to be run by the Victory and its backers, there is finally hope that our first-class coastline will have some dining to match at least on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Doug says building work on The Boat Ramp will begin any day and he expects it to open by October. It will serve lunch daily and dinner on Friday and Saturday, and will be more kid-friendly than the fine dining atmosphere at the Star. "It will be right on the water," Doug says. "The windows will pull back and you will be looking at the sea." And he says that while each place will have its own character, they will share some resources such as the all-important contacts with local fishermen.
