Babel Chair
design: Marcel Wanders for xO

Marcel Wanders designed Babel as his first collaboration with xO.

The Babel chair is the mixing up of conventional ideas. The heavy duty timber seat is finding its place at the centre of a plastic structure.
The solid legs, available in either clear or black polycarbonate, give the appearance of turned and curved wood. The clear polycarbonate backrest surmounts the design with elegance and lightness. The seat can be specified in a solid oak timber seat or a leather upholstered high density polyurethane foam seat.

All parts of Babel can be cleverly disassembled and flat-packed into an easy-to-freight briefcase-sized box. Ideal for the design-savvy home, for corporate breakout areas and even upmarket restaurants.

The spirit of the dream-like subconscious is fully recognisable in Wanders work for xO.
