The Publican Group launches Perth's largest rooftop bar

Perth will get its largest rooftop bar when hospitality venue company The Publican Group launches its latest venue in the city early next month, The Aviary.

The features of the new two-storey venue include the giant rooftop bar, The Nest as well as The Birdcage restaurant and circular lounge bar on level one. It will have a capacity of up to 600 guests.

With its view of Perth's CBD skyline, The Nest is being billed as an open-air rooftop "paradise" boasting a bowling green, trees, AstroTurf and decking.

Set to officially launch November 9 The Aviary will join The Publican Group's portfolio of other venues including WA hotspots The George and The Byrneleigh.

The Publican Group's directors, John Ahern and Steve Garcia, said they had identified a gap in the WA hospitality market several years ago.

"We wanted to create a sophisticated urban playground for Perth's social and business establishment – a place to unwind after work or on the weekend," Ahern said.

"The Aviary is a contemporary and stylish space and its rooftop location will take advantage of Perth's amazing weather."

Caroline Watson, The Publican Group's WA operations manager, said the restaurant would showcase WA ingredients.

"The Aviary's restaurant, The Birdcage, encompasses the amazing tastes that Western Australia has to offer with its simple yet distinctive seasonal menu created from fresh, locally sourced ingredients," she said.

"Its affordable wine list showcases some of the best varietals from regions at home and abroad and there are also bird inspired cocktails on the drinks menu."
