Before establishing himself as one of Australia’s leading designers, Michael McCann created, opened and operated more than 80 restaurants, bars and night-clubs in 12 countries over his 28 year career in hospitality. In 1995 he created his unique design studio, DREAMTIME AUSTRALIA DESIGN.

Named by the UK’s Wallpaper magazine as Sydney’s “designer du jour” and recently selected as Indesign magazine’s ten most influential people in the Australian design industry, Michael McCann brings an almost unique wealth of international hotel / resort, restaurant, bar and club design, development and operational experience to his wide variety of trend-setting projects.

Winner of the People’s Choice award for ‘Designer of the Year’ at the 2008 Australian I.D.E.A. Awards, finalist for ‘Best International Bar and Lounge Design’ at the International Hotel Motel & Restaurant Association’s worldwide Gold Key Awards 2008 in New York, soon after the Gold Key nomination, Dreamtime was also successful in winning ‘Best International Bathroom Design’ at the prestigious Best of Year (B.O.Y.) Awards also held in N.Y.

Should a client desire, Dreamtime’s team will prepare a detailed Concept Statement prior to the design development stage, developing the client’s objectives and identifying the look and feel of the venue well before the first sketch is drawn.
