Celebrity chef Luke Nguyen, from the SBS series Luke Nguyen's Vietnam, and owner of Red Lantern in Surry Hills, is setting palates alight at Star City with Fat Noodle. The dynamic design of Fat Noodle inventively uses overlapping layers of colour and texture to create a
space that evokes the overlapping fresh flavours, ingredients and cultures of Chef’s special menu.
Fat Noodle is Star City’s first brand new restaurant to be introduced as part of the property’s overall
redevelopment program, scheduled for completion in 2011. Situated adjacent to the newly renovated
Baccarat area, Fat Noodle encompasses handcrafted sophistication and clean lines into a modern and
crisp, contemporary new venue. Design and colour palette inspiration is found in the indigenous
ingredients of Asia; ginger, mandarin, chili, buckwheat, and broth, the organic materials used for
organization, texture, flavour and spice. Natural “Santos Rosewood” veneer warms the room on low walls
and furniture throughout. A quilt of flooring materials fuses east and west together, featuring natural slate,
together with “arabesco oro” marble from Italy.
A stylized rosewood screen soffit is embellished with
oversized beads of mirror polished chrome creating a shell that is visible from all areas of the casino floor.
Discreetly hidden behind the screen, high-technology Audio/Visual equipment creates a cloud dream, a
video projection over a billowing sheer, and surrounds the ceiling of the dining room with a constant flow
of energy.
