Swerve Design’s refurbishment of the Lapstone Hotel into a cosy mountain retreat with a modern Australian twist is proving very popular. A contemporary classic appealing to a wide market base, the refurbishment has attracted new customers, which is helping drive strong growth despite the recent challenges faced by the industry.

Maximising customer comfort and amenity, prioviding flexibility of use throughout the day, week and year (especially important in the seasonally variable Blue Mountains), streamlining back of house service and upgrades to building services and disabled access led to a dramatic transformation. Add character, charm and spectacular two-storey height spaces to the functional layout and a new experience awaits.

From inside to out, new free-flowing open planning, dramatic ceiling heights, beautiful natural materials including local stone and hand-laquered timber wall panels, generous comfortable terraces and a warm welcoming atmosphere are helping draw car-loads of patrons off the highway into a revitalised destination venue.
