Peden’s Hotel Cessnock, formerly the ‘Aberdare Tavern’ underwent major renovations earlier this year.
Crone Partners Architects undertook the drafting requirements and Wendy Green from ‘Wow Factor’ undertook the design work.
Added to the existing hotel were a new restaurant, bar, tab area, children’s playroom, new kitchen, outdoor dining and outdoor smoking areas.
The design brief was to maintain the belonging of the existing clientele, as well as present something ‘new and exciting’ to those who had not visited to hotel before!
The stone and stainless steel kitchen features its own wood fired pizza oven, which can be seen through a servery style window.
The bar is prominent in the middle of the hotel separating the dining room from the front bar and tab areas. It has been impeccably finished with a mix of stone, stainless steel, and beautiful natural local timber as well as a splash of orange polyurethane to spice things up a little. Another feature of the bar area are the three oversized drum lights that add both colour and ambient light and are described by all who see them as ‘utterly gorgeous’.
