White Chalk Interiors designed the Hotel Tivoli to establish a unique pub and bar crossover standard in the Adelaide hospitality industry. The brief received from Preston Bar Group director Piers Schmidt was to create a striking and opulent space not commonly associated with a traditional pub whilst remaining warm and inviting with an appeal to all ages.

A classic modern approach was suggested. i.e. use classic design elements in a modern way. The hotel is heritage listed so there were certain restrictions that needed to be adhered to, however White Chalk embraced the heritage design and successfully contemporised the traditional.

White Chalk have layered a multi faceted combination of products to achieve a space that is sexy, classy and glamorous. White Chalk Interiors has successfully designed three other projects fro the Preston Bar Group and so they had free reign over the design fit out.

"This hotel was a fantastic space to create for design," said Serena Elise, White Chalk's owner. "We have achieved exactly what we wanted and the client is thrilled. Good clients make the best for the best projects and this hotel certainly proves that!"

Production Solutions supplied the AV for the Tivoli with all the audio, except the drive iPods, supplied on a permanent hire basis. The hire benefit of not laying out the capital but getting an excellent claimable expense while receiving full 24 hour service is still very popular with good operators.

The vision is owned by the hotel but was installed and is serviced by Production Solutions. The 'Platinum TV' is the first such installation in Adelaide and was also installed and commisioned by Production Solutions. The content is customised and continually updated to suit the venue with scrolling banners and active logo placements to allow instant and attractive self and internal cross promotion.

Toilets are fitted with ceiling speakers from which 'Great Speeches of the World' can be heard at all times.

Thanks to the RPM88 DSP, the audio system runs multi-zoned. Both main areas have multiple zone control to allow subtle or significant differences in all facets of the audio output across larger areas. The two SR3 remote units have zone bitmaps denoting selectable zone adjustments either by input for selection and level and/or by zones, (within areas), to allow total control.

Once levels are preset, a staff member can easily adjust the overall zone volume as a whole with a turn of the rotary knob. With a push and turn the operator may change input selection or adjust individual zone levels within areas. Full 'front end' processing of inputs allows constant music levels to be maintained from any source. The 'rear end' processing keeps the system safe and easy to control.
